I love refried beans. I just can’t help it. For me, no burrito or taco is complete without a few heaping spoons of the stuff, preferably with some sharp cheddar cheese melted into the mix. Unfortunately, after switching to a vegetarian diet, they became off-limits, due to the fact that almost all refried beans are made with pork fat. Fortunately, I found a wonderful recipe to make them myself, completely vegan. After a little tweaking here and there, it has become a go-to recipe that I love to use time and again. 8 Quick Tips To Sharpen Your Knife Skills

#1 Always start with a sharp knife

Though it may sound contradictory, a sharp knife actually lessens the chance of injury. Duller blades force a person to push harder as they slice, increasing the chance for the blade to slip and cut into fingers. To keep blades in tip-top shape, wash by hand immediately after use. Do not leave knives in the sink or place them in the dishwasher. Store them either on a magnetized strip or in a wooden block. Knives stored in a drawer get jostled together, dulling the blades. Broccoli Cheddar Soup With Mini Sourdough Toast Squares

This delicious soup is the perfect way to warm up after a chilly day. Thick and creamy, it has a wonderful depth of flavor, from the sharpness of the cheddar to the brightness of the broccoli.
