This recipe is extremely coveted in our family, fine-tuned over the years to make the perfect coleslaw. Sweet crunchy veggies are the star here, with a bright, tangy dressing that makes this the perfect side for any summer barbecue, pairing well with a smoky bbq sauce or on top of our Pulled Port(obello) Sandwich. It also happens to be a snap to make. What more could you ask for?
Classic Homestyle Cole Slaw Recipe:

Ready in: 1 hr 20 min
- 1/2 med. head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 med. carrot, shredded
- 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
- 2 T onion, minced
- coleslaw dressing (recipe below)
- 1/2 C mayonnaise
- 1 T milk
- 1 T white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp paprika (pref. Hungarian)
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
Prepare vegetables as described above and place in a large bowl.
Combine all ingredients for dressing, and mix with prepared vegetables thoroughly.
Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to mingle.
